The information you need to choose which to purchase should be available by the end of the article.

Overview of Whoop Vs Amazon Halo

Before we start comparing Amazon Halo vs Whoop in terms of price, setup, and other specs, let’s give an overview of each.

Amazon Halo: The Hot New Fitness Tracker

Whoop Vs Amazon Halo

Amazon released the Amazon Halo in August 2020 to add to its steadily expanding lineup of smart devices. Initially, it was only available to certain users through an “early access” program.

The popular new fitness tracker was made available to all US Amazon customers in December of that same year.

It is a high-quality band that people adore, despite the fact that the product is much newer than its rivals. It offers several unique features that we will detail later on.

WHOOP: the Veteran Band

The WHOOP is a lot more well-established than the Amazon Halo. The company has been around since 2012 and is a well-liked choice among fitness enthusiasts. People appreciate that the current model is based on years of customer feedback and technological advancements.

Both bands are deserving contenders, even though The Whoop has been around for a while. The information in the remainder of this review will be used to help you choose between Whoop and Amazon Halo.

Whoop Vs Amazon Halo: Apps & Integration

Amazon Halo and Whoop offer their corresponding mobile apps so users can view their wellness at a glance, just like every fitness wearable does.

Both provide a wide range of tools, individualized fitness advice, and a continuously expanding on-demand library of high-quality exercise and meditation manuals. Both apps are available on the Google Play Store for Android and Apple App Store for iPhones and iPads.

Based on our experience, the Amazon Halo app presents user data more straightforwardly and offers intuitive navigation. In comparison to the Whoop, it also displays fundamental health metrics without the need for a Halo membership.

The Whoop app provides both a simplified and advanced view of the user’s wellness data and allows users to compare their metrics in detailed weekly and monthly graphs. You can log and view your daily activities on the dashboard’s journal.

Additionally, the Whoop Live feature enables you to overlay real-time heart rate, recovery, sleep, and strain data onto your videos. The app provides too much access to membership services like virtual coaching, exercise videos, and AMA.

Instead of relying solely on Amazon Halo, Whoop integrates with Apple Health and Strava to sync your activities and give you a more tailored experience. At the time of writing, Whoop is also working on Google Fit integration. No external apps are connected to Amazon Halo.

Whoop Vs Amazon Halo: Comfort

Overall, the Amazon Halo was more comfortable to wear. For best results, WHOOP recommends wearing the band very tightly.

For myself, it was difficult to have to wear something so constricted around my wrist. But take note that WHOOP also sells bicep bands.

Amazon Halo

Clearly, the Amazon Halo prevails in the comfort department. You aren’t aware that you are wearing the main device, despite it being heavier than the WHOOP. If your wrist is bent into the main device, there may be a slight discomfort, but other than that, it is very comfortable.

Whoop

I’ll get right to the point. I made the band so tight that one finger could barely fit under it by following the instructions in the app’s tutorial. The first night I wore the band I’m not even sure I slept. I actually thought my wrist was going to fall off due to how tightly the band was fastened.

After such a night, I came across the meme below on Reddit and never felt like anything was more fitting.

Whoop Vs Amazon Halo: Battery

Similar runtimes of almost a week between charges are shared by the two wearables. However, if you keep the “Tone Analysis” feature turned on, the Only two days or so will the Amazon Halo Band last. Turning it off is probably the best course of action because it is a battery hog and a privacy nightmare (given Amazon’s reputation).

The Halo Band can be fully charged in less than 90 minutes using the included charging clip. The Whoop 4.0, in contrast, includes a water-resistant battery pack that slips over the tracker and charges it while you wear it.

Whoop Vs Amazon Halo: Price

When determining which fitness tracker is best for you, cost can be a significant factor. You must pay a monthly membership fee for both of these fitness trackers.

You can’t beat the incredibly low monthly membership fee for the Amazon Halo, but there is a setup cost for the band.

The WHOOP provides its entry-level model bands for free with registration but charges a higher monthly membership fee of $30 (see below for more information). Your total upfront expense for both is $90.

Amazon Halo

The Amazon Halo is only marginally more expensive than WHOOP band prices. This comes with the band, a charging station, and six months of free membership. After the initial six months, a monthly membership fee is charged.

Amazon does not require you to sign up for a contract so you can quit the membership at any time. Monthly membership fees can add up though, so I couldn’t give it 5 stars.

Whoop

On the other hand, WHOOP gives you a free $30 band and charger when you sign up for one of their three membership plans. The three options are:

  • a monthly membership for $30 per month
  • an annual membership for $24 per month
  • or an 18 month membership for $18 per month

Naturally, your monthly membership fee will decrease the longer the contract you sign. I had to give it a lower rating because it had a higher monthly fee than the Amazon Halo. However, in order to get started, you will need to pay at least $90 up front.

Whoop Pros & Cons

Pros

  • While you’re sleeping, it monitors disturbances, productivity, breathing rate, and latency.
  • It provides you with information on your state of recovery and alerts you to when you should rest or where you can exert more effort to reach your objective.
  • It is a strap that is incredibly cozy.

Cons

  • You need monthly membership for the tracker to work.
  • You must check your phone to see the number of calories burned, steps taken, and miles traveled while exercising because the tracker has neither a screen nor voice assistance. It also lacks built-in Alexa.

Amazon Halo Pros & Cons

Pros

  • It is reasonable to pay a monthly membership fee.
  • possesses a wide variety of unique exercise programs.
  • supports a variety of sports modes.

Cons

  • The battery is not powerful enough for a fitness tracker.
  • Lacks strain coaching, and recovery tracking.

Final Verdict on Whoop Vs Amazon Halo

In a nutshell, the Amazon Halo Band and Whoop 4.0 are similarly screenless fitness bands with slight differences in feature sets.

The Amazon Halo Band, with its initial one-time purchase and reasonably-priced optional membership, will likely be a more cost-effective choice than Whoop’s full subscription-based model for most people in the long run.

That said, the Whoop 4.0 is a marginally better choice for athletes and fitness enthusiasts who’re overly obsessed with every little health and fitness metric.

You can’t go wrong with either option when choosing between Amazon Halo and Whoop. It genuinely depends on what you want most and what your objectives are because they each offer a variety of similar but distinct things.
